- The Mumbai Trans Harbour Link, officially named as Atal Bihari Vajpayee Sewri–Nhava Sheva Atal Setu.
- The Mumbai Trans Harbour Link (MTHL) is indeed a significant infrastructure project in Mumbai, India. Atal Setu is an engineering marvel.
- Built at a cost of about ₹17,840 crore, Atal Setu is the longest bridge and also the longest sea bridge in the country.
- The bridge has a capacity to handle 70,000 vehicles per day.
- The construction started in April 2018 and was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 12 January 2024.
- It is a 21.8-km long six-lane bridge having 16.5 km length over the sea and about 5.5 km on the land.
- The total cost required for this bridge is ₹17,840 crore.
- It is 6-lane bridge that connects Mumbai and Navi Mumbai, travel time is significantly reduced due to this bridge which can increase economic connectivity in this region. The bridge will connect Sewri in Mumbai with Nhava Sheva in Navi Mumbai.
